Here you will find information about accessibility, facilities, and other things that are good to know for your visit to the Norwegian Aviation Museum.

 
  • The Norwegian Aviation Museum is located at Stormyra in Bodø, just outside Bodø city center.

    Taxi
    A taxi can be reached directly at phone number 07550. There are taxi stands both in the city center and at Bodø Airport.

    Bus
    Find route departures on Reis Nordland to the City Nord (Bodø) bus stop. The museum is located behind the Trekanten Shopping Center.

  • You will find a large parking lot right outside the museum where you can park your car, and even your camper, during your visit.

    Free parking
    All visitors have free parking for three hours with a valid ticket. All you need to do is take a parking ticket from the machine, and you can park for three hours. If you wish to stay longer than three hours, remember to get a new ticket and pay.

  • One of the museum's values is to be accessible to everyone.

    • The museum is accessible for wheelchair users via a dedicated path to the main entrance and the entrance under the Toblerone (the glass-covered entrance). Contact the reception or ring the doorbell.

      You are welcome to borrow a wheelchair at the reception.

    • There are ramps leading to both exhibitions.

    • You will find handicap-accessible restrooms in both exhibitions and at the reception.

    • We have elevators on both the military and civilian sides. Unfortunately, there is no elevator to the last part of the control tower at the top, but our staff can assist you with the elevator to the 3rd floor.

    • There is a changing table in the restroom at the reception for visitors with small children.

    • There is an induction loop in our auditorium.

    • Admission is free for companions with a companion certificate.

    • Dogs / Service Dogs: Please note that dogs are not allowed inside the museum. This includes dogs carried in backpacks or bags. Exceptions are made for guide dogs and service dogs necessary for persons with disabilities.

 
 

The Norwegian Aviation Museum is centrally located in Bodø, between the airport, the city center, and City Nord. It is within walking distance from us to Trekanten, City Nord, Bodø Spektrum, and Nordlandshallen. See us on the map above.
